NB I-5 in Marysville reopened after large brush fire causes lane closures

Crews continue to monitor and extinguish hot spots after a brush fire burned along Interstate 5 Tuesday.

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — Northbound Interstate 5 in Marysville is fully reopened after crews were monitoring the site of a large brush fire that started Tuesday afternoon, which caused several lanes to be closed.

The fire was just north of 116th Street NE between milepost 203 and 206.

Traffic backed up approximately 5 miles after the lanes were closed. The roadway fully reopened around midnight.

The fire has burned 16 acres of brush and caused minor damage to three buildings.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

There are no known injuries.
