EVERETT, Wash. — A man in his 50s remained in critical condition Thursday, April 18 after a multi-vehicle crash in Everett the afternoon of April 17.
The crash on 41st Street between Rucker and Colby Avenue involved a semi-truck, box truck and two passenger vehicles, according to Everett Fire.
A female who initially declined medical attention at the scene later requested aid for back pain and was transported to the hospital, according to the Everett Police Department. She was released from the hospital Wednesday evening.
"I was actually on a delivery to deliver flowers," said Jeff Telgenhoff, whose family owns a local nursery. "I got hit, almost broadsided [by] a car that blew a stop sign probably doing 45 miles per hour."
The posted speed limit for cars entering 41st Street is 25 miles per hour.
Police have not released any information about what led to the collision, but security cameras from a nearby business show a driver failed to stop at a stop sign on Hoyt Avenue before crashing into the semi-truck on 41st Street, ultimately coming to a rest beneath the trailer.
In the footage shared with KING 5, first responders could be seen removing the injured driver.
The video shows Telgenhoff's truck within several feet of the initial impact.
"The airbag went into my face and then it was immediate shock," he said. "I'm walking around, so thank God for that. It could've been a lot worse."
