FIFE, Wash. — One lane is open on northbound Interstate 5 after a semi-truck crashed and then caught on fire.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the collision happened at 2:22 p.m. at milepost 136 near Port of Tacoma Road.
According to WSDOT, the two left lanes are currently open to motorists. Travelers should expect long delays. As of 6:30 p.m., traffic is backed up about four miles.
The hillside brush near the semi-truck also caught fire.
The Tacoma Fire Department, Washington State Patrol and Fife police are responding to the scene.
