RENTON, Wash. — A landslide is blocking Maple Valley Highway and drivers are asked to expect extended closures while crews clear the road of debris.
The road closed down around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, according to the Renton Police Department. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
The hillside next to the roadway is unstable, according to Renton Firefighters. The Washington State Department of Transportation is also responding.
