Malfunctioning railroad gate impacts ferry traffic in Edmonds

A railroad gate was experiencing technical difficulties on Thursday afternoon, Washington State Ferries said.

EDMONDS, Wash. — Ferry riders going through Edmonds should be prepared for longer than normal travel times on Thursday.

The Washington State Ferries said the Edmonds-Kingston route would be delayed more than an hour after a railroad arm malfunctioned.

Drivers at the Kingston terminal should prepare for a three-hour wait after the issues with the gate were resolved, WSF said.

The train tracks cross through downtown Edmonds right in front of the ferry terminal at Main Street.

For those hoping to travel the route tonight, the WSF website point to the Edmonds / Kingston Schedule for upcoming available sailings and the Real-Time Map to track both vessels on the run.
