KENT, Wash. — A 45-car pile-up closed all lanes of southbound Interstate 5 in Kent Sunday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision happened just south of SR 516. Officials asked drivers to avoid the area and prepare for delays.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) first posted about the incident at 1:20 p.m. Traffic is being diverted to SR 516. WSDOT said traffic is backed up more than three miles and is continuing to grow.
No information on any possible injuries has been shared.
There is no estimated time of reopening.
