The northbound lanes of I-405 are now open following a deadly crash Sunday evening.
The Washington State Department of Transportation first reported the crash near NE 44th Street at 6:40 p.m.
According to the Washing State Patrol (WSP), a 51-year-old motorcyclist was entering northbound I-405 and “failed to negotiate a curve” and slid into another vehicle traveling northbound. The driver of the other vehicle was unable to stop and struck the motorcycle and the rider.
The 51-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The WSP said no one else was injured in the crash.
The WSP closed all lanes of northbound I-405 for several hours during their investigation. The roadway reopened around 10:10 p.m. Monday.
