LAKEWOOD, Wash. — All lanes of northbound Interstate 5 in Lakewood are now open after being blocked by an overturned semi-truck for several hours early Wednesday morning.
The Washington State Department of Transportation first reported the crash at milepost 122.68 near Berkley Street SW just before 12:30 a.m.
According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Robert Reyer, the driver of the semi-truck fell asleep and struck a concrete barrier and impact attenuator before the vehicle rolled over. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured in the crash, Reyer said.
Crews were able to flip the semi-truck upright around 5 a.m. All lanes of northbound I-5 reopened by 5:15 a.m.
