Pedestrian struck, killed on NB I-5 in Lacey

Washington State Patrol says drivers should expect long delays as they investigate.

LACEY, Wash. — One person is dead after being struck and killed by a vehicle along Interstate 5 in Lacey Monday evening.

All northbound lanes of the interstate near Carpenter Road NE shut down around 6 p.m. for the collision, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. Lanes reopened after midnight.

According to WSP, the driver was not impaired at the time of the crash and no charges have been filed.

The victim was identified as a 33-year-old woman. 

The driver was in the middle lane of the highway approaching Carpenter Road when the pedestrian entered the northbound lanes, where she was struck by the driver, according to WSP.
