A slow-moving landslide caused a significant crack in State Route 203 between Carnation and Duvall. The pavement has separated up to 5 inches in places.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) closed one lane of SR 203 around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Traffic is alternating through one lane of SR 203 at milepost 8.5, near NE Stillwater Hill Road. A temporary traffic signal was installed to guide drivers around the lane closure.
Geotechs evaluated the roadway and damage on Wednesday. WSDOT will analyze findings by the geotechs and determine the extent of repairs.
It's unclear how long one direction of SR 203 will remain closed. Drivers should anticipate ongoing delays in the area.
