Suspected DUI crash on SR 18 sends 1 person to hospital with life-threatening injuries

One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and two others are being evaluated after a three-car crash on Wednesday morning.

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — One person is in custody for a suspected DUI crash after a head-on collision on State Route 18 Wednesday morning. 

The collision involved three cars. The roadway was fully closed between Interstate 90 and Issaquah Hobart Road while Washington State Patrol (WSP) and Incident Response were at the scene. The roadway reopened about 8:30 a.m.

One person was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Two other people are being evaluated, according to Eastside Fire and Rescue. 

One driver is in custody for suspected impairment and is being taken to the hospital, according to WSP Trooper Rick Johnson. 

The accident took place near a construction zone near Raging River.
