State Patrol investigated 'numerous' crashes in King County Wednesday morning

Several blocking crashes were reported before 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday as the first fall storm arrived.

KING COUNTY, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol had already investigated "numerous collisions" by 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Trooper Rick Jonhson.

That includes a crash that blocked three lanes of southbound I-405 near SR 167.

A crash on southbound I-5 near South 188th Street that blocked the HOV lane in Seatac.

And a crash on the eastbound I-90 on-ramp from southbound I-5.

"#AutumnRain is here. @wastatepatrol troopers in #KingCounty have investigated numerous collisions so far this morning.  #SlowDown and drive for weather conditions," Trooper Johnson tweeted.

The rain is expected to continue throughout the day as a fall storm moves in.

The cold front will move through from north to south roughly between 3-6 p.m. this afternoon with more rain. The strongest winds should occur during that time and slowly decrease during the evening. There could be a few isolated thunderstorms as the front moves through.
