SEATTLE — Two 16-year-old boys were found shot to death along Interstate 5 in Seattle on Thursday night and early Friday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
WSP received a call from a driver who said they saw a person in a northbound lane of the freeway on March 21, according to WSP Trooper Rick Johnson. Troopers arrived and found the boy had gunshot wounds and have no reason to believe the teen was struck by a car.
Around 8 a.m. the following morning on March 22, WSP received another call about a body in a ditch along I-5, which was near the same area the first teenager was found hours before. Troopers are working to determine if the second teenager, who also had gunshot wounds, was shot on the freeway or elsewhere.
Johnson said WSP does not have information linking the two homicides yet.
Both 16-year-old boys died as a result of their gunshot wounds. One teen was found in a ditch near the freeway on ramp near North 85th Street and I-5, and the second teen was found approximately half a mile away.
