Heading to the Seattle Seahawks season opener? Road projects could impact your travel time

There are a series of weekend closures and lane reductions that could lead to delays heading in and out of Seattle.

SEATTLE — This weekend, the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is reminding Seahawks fans about ongoing road work that could impact their commute to and from Sunday's season opening game at Lumen Field in Seattle.

In a social media post, the agency highlighted four weekend projects.

In Bothell, all southbound lanes are closed on I-405 between state Route 527, also known as Everett-Bothell Highway, and state Route 522. The closure began Friday night and continues through 4 a.m. Monday.

Three southbound lanes are closed on I-5 in south Seattle between Albro Place and mid-Boeing Field until 5 a.m. Monday. WSDOT says crews are repairing expansion joints.

In Fife, the 54th Avenue overpass is closed until 5 a.m. Monday so new asphalt can be installed.

Finally, the westbound ramp from state Route 520 to I-5 South is closed until 5 a.m. Monday, with a temporary reopening between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, for the Seahawks game.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Sunday.
