With the long days of sunshine and record highs, the Northwest is fully in summer mode. That means iced beverages, fans and visits to our favorite beaches.
To celebrate our first heat wave of the summer, we asked viewers to share their favorite beaches to visit.
Here are some of the best beaches in the Pacific Northwest to check out this summer:
Alder Lake Park
This camping park near Eatonville, Wash., offers a beach-side getaway just a short drive from the city. With tent and RV sites, boat ramps, a dock and a protected swimming area, it's a great weekend getaway spot.

Birch Bay
In the uppermost corner of Washington state, Birch Bay is a popular summer spot. With a state park, walking and biking paths, and a cute shop with ice cream, the drive is worth the visit.

Cannon Beach
Along the Oregon coast, this beach is a well known Pacific Northwest escape, but that doesn't make it less lovely. A quick trip from Portland, this stretch of beach was named after the cannon of a Navy shift that wrecked offshore.

Cape Sebastian
Along the southern coast of Oregon, Cape Sebastian offers scenic views and sandy beaches. Open year round, the state park also offers hiking, fishing and more.

Dash Point
This camping spot in Western Washington is a state park that features over 3,300 feet of shoreline. The sandy beach is a popular destination located in close proximity to Seattle and Tacoma.

La Push
The options at La Push really are endless. Second Beach, Ruby Beach and Rialto Beach all offer great views, sand, and epic sunsets.

Meadowdale Beach Park
Located in Washington's Snohomish County, this park features a meandering nature trail and picnic areas. Currently, the website says there is not beach access, so you may want to try nearby Picnic Point instead.

Old Man House Beach, Suquamish
One of the smallest beaches on our list, this acre of waterfront property on Bainbridge Island is a state park that belongs to the Suquamish Tribe.
Point No Point
There's beach fun for all at Point No Point near Hansville, Washington. This Kitsap County park has a sandy beach and a lighthouse with tours twice on Saturday in the summer.

Port Williams Beach
Another small park -- just an acre -- this tiny beach offers a great beach, picnic areas, a boat launch and more. Located near Sequim, Washington, this spot is a great place to visit on the Olympic Peninsula.

We couldn't ignore our furry friends on this list. While most of the spots listed are for humans and require dogs to stay on leash, this one is all for your four-legged companions.
