SEATTLE — There's a chance of snow in the Puget Sound lowlands through Thursday.

Though little to no accumulations are expected, the National Weather Service (NWS) said snow could fall overnight and into the morning hours throughout the week.

There's more than a 50% chance some areas, including the Seattle metro area, will see 0.1 inches of snow or more by Thursday, the NWS said Monday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday for western Kitsap County and the lowlands of eastern Jefferson and Mason counties. The advisory includes the Hood Canal area, Bremerton, Bainbridge Island, Silverdale and Port Orchard.

The NWS said areas included in the advisory are expected to see wet snow with accumulations of up to 2 inches.

The weather system moving in Wednesday will keep snow levels around 500-800 feet in the morning, increasing the chance for rain/snow showers. Snow levels are forecast to increase to around 1,000 later Wednesday.

Weak high pressure will move through Thursday into Friday for a break in the widespread showers with just a couple around both days, and maybe some sunbreaks.

A warmer system will move in on Saturday for increasing rain and warming temperatures, with snow levels rising to 2,000-3,000 feet. It should remain snow at the bases of all of the ski areas. This will change to off-and-on showers on Sunday. Highs over the weekend will rise into the mid-40s.
