SEATTLE — The National Weather Service warned of minor flooding along the shorelines of Puget Sound, Hood Canal and Strait of Georgia Thursday morning.

Coast flooding was expected due to tidal overflow around high tide.

A Coastal Flood Advisory was in effect from 5-10 a.m. Thursday. This impacted San Juan County, western Whatcom County, western Skagit County, Everett area, Tacoma area, Admiralty Inlet area, Hood Canal area, Seattle and Bremerton.

The National Weather Service warned the flooding could impact parking lots, parks, and roads. Isolated road closures were expected.

Meanwhile, a High Surf Advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday along Washington's coast. The National Weather Service warns of large breaking waves that could create dangerous conditions.

"Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions," the weather service warns.
