Discussion

Our quiet weather will gradually come to an end late tonight as our next system begins to roll in.  Not before another but less widespread round of late night fog developing in spotty areas.

After an incredibly soggy start to December, Western Washington will see a quiet and mostly dry week.

The first week of December has so far started wet. As of Dec. 10, Sea-Tac has measured 6.56" of rain. The average for the month of December as a whole is 5.72", so there's already almost an inch more than the monthly average. Olympia has been even wetter with 8.75" so far, Almost an inch more than the normal for the entire month.

High pressure is building in today, keeping rain out of the forecast through Wednesday. Later Wednesday a weak and fast moving front will push in for increasing rain in the evening. The front will move through by midnight with only a few showers left in the morning before turning partly sunny in the afternoon.

A weak front brushes by the northwest tip of the state on Friday but it should only give us clouds with any rain stating out towards the north coast.

We then slip back into a dry pattern with high pressure pushing back into the state over into the weekend.
