Washingtonians, prepare yourself for a drier than normal May.
On the heels of a record-setting dry March, May is also teeing up with a long stretch of dry days. March was recorded as the second driest month ever at Sea-Tac Airport.
Last year, May set the record of 17 consecutive days without rain. The longest dry streak ever recorded was 55 days in the summer of 2017.
So, could we see a repeat of last year?
The Climate Prediction Center is predicting a drier than normal May. Current models forecast a long stretch of dry days to start out the month.
"Looking ahead, the @NWSCPC 6-10 day outlook shows a high probability of above-normal temperatures. Normal high temperatures for Seattle for that period is 63-64 [degrees] #wawx," the National Weather Service Seattle tweeted.
Last year's record tied 1992, with only .12 inches of rain.
The last measurable rainfall at Sea-Tac Airport was recorded on Sunday.
