BELLEVUE, Wash. — A Wind Advisory for parts of western Washington expired Thursday.
The advisory was issued for areas in the east Puget Sound lowlands including Everett and North Bend, the Cascade Foothills and cities along the coast.
The NWS warned of wind gusts of up to 55 mph, with most areas experiencing gusts of 30 to 40 mph. The Wind Advisory expired at 10 a.m. in most inland areas.
The large, low-pressure system didn't bring much rain, but winds from the east became an issue with forecast models hinting at some 50 mph gusts likely along the coast and for the Cascade Foothills of Snohomish, King, and Pierce counties.
Winds will continue to ease into the evening.
The winds blew down tree limbs and caused power outages in some areas.
The NWS urged people to use extra caution while driving, secure outdoor objects, and have a plan in place in case they do briefly lose electricity.
Thousands lost power during the storm.
