BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Portions of western Washington could get hit with wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

Beyond the strong winds, heavy rains associated with an atmospheric river will soak the Olympic Peninsula and King, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties. As much as 3 to 6 inches of rain could fall along the coast and in the mountains - and possibly higher. Up to 4 inches of rain could fall in the northern interior, according to Everett.

The heavy rain could cause pooling on roadways and rivers to rise. River flooding is not currently forecasted.
