Treatment program offers individualized care and behavioral therapy to combat addiction and other conditions

Hotel California by the Sea Bellevue offers evidence-based treatment for everyone – catered to meet each individual’s needs. Sponsored by Hotel California by the Sea

SEATTLE — Hotel California by the Sea specializes in treatment that can help battle addiction to drugs and alcohol, as well as underlying conditions like anxiety, trauma, depression and bipolar disorder.

“Often these things go hand in hand with each other, so we want to focus on addressing these at the same time,” said Allie Wile, admissions supervisor at Hotel California by the Sea Bellevue. “Inevitably, you’re still going to struggle with it if we don’t focus on these together.”

Along with a dual diagnosis individualized treatment program, Hotel California offers a young adults’ program that focuses on career planning, life planning and coping mechanisms. An executive program for men 35+ that focuses on the stress of work and relationships. The women’s program is run by women for women and helps them face trauma, as well as other issues.

“Everyone has different needs,” said Wile. “We have to tailor to each of these individual, unique needs by having different programs to fit each demographic.”

Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on changing thinking patterns, behaviors and emotions. Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) helps people live in the present moment, deal with stress and regulate emotions. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) helps people learn how to regulate psychological stress associated with traumatic experiences. All of these are offered at Hotel California by the Sea Bellevue.

Length of stay can vary based on an individual’s needs and goals and what staff feels will set a patient up for success. Treatment options may include detox, residential care, intensive outpatient care or a combination of all three. Substance use disorders benefit from intensive, evidence-based interventions from licensed professionals.

“The best outcomes and the greatest lengths of sobriety are associated with longer durations of treatment,” said Melissa Ohlhaver, clinical therapist. “We want to give our clients the best chances at long-term recovery by giving them longer durations of treatment.”
