KENT, Wash. — An 18-year-old man killed earlier this week was identified as a student at Kent-Meridian High School.
According to the Kent Police Department, on Monday, a caller told 911 there was someone unconscious in a parking lot at 9800 South 252nd Street, just minutes from the high school.
When officers arrived, they discovered the victim, Cristopher Yahir Medina Zelaya, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The King County Medical Examiner revealed he was shot in the head. His death was ruled a homicide.
No arrest has been made and no suspect information has been released.
Yahir Medina Zelaya's death comes just days before Kent-Meridian High School's graduation, which will be held on Saturday.
