SEATTLE — Sweetgreen, a fast-food restaurant that specializes in healthy meals, is expected to open its first eatery in Seattle on Tuesday.
The restaurant will be located at 801 Lenora Street in the Denny Triangle neighborhood.
It’s Sweetgreen’s second location in Washington state with the first one opening in January in Totem Lake.
Sweetgreen’s menu includes salads, warm bowls, protein plates and sides. It was founded in 2007 by three recent college graduates who were looking for a healthier fast-food option, according to Sweetgreen’s website. The company said it works with local vendors in each region.
The 2,383-square-foot Denny Triangle location will be able to accommodate 20 diners indoors and 20 diners outside on the restaurant’s patio. It will feature a mural created by Seattle artist Dierdre Patterson titled “Urban Jungle.” The mural “deconstructs Seattle’s natural beauty into a modern tapestry,” according to a press release from the restaurant.
On Sweetgreen’s opening day Tuesday, it will donate a meal to the hunger relief organization Northwest Harvest for every meal sold.
Sweetgreen’s website lists a second Seattle restaurant coming soon at 11th Avenue and Pine Street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. However, details were not available on when that location would open.
