REDMOND, Wash. — Yet another fried chicken chain restaurant has expanded into the Seattle area.

Crimson Coward opened its first location in Washington state on Oct. 4, located in Redmond on 148th Avenue Northeast near the border with Bellevue.

Crimson Coward said it wants to bring the "Nashville Hot Chicken" phenomenon to the masses. Its menu offers chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, loaded fries, and other sides.

The chain, based in Los Angeles, has 12 locations open around the country. Along with Washington, there are locations in California, Texas, Virginia, Maryland and Michigan.

Crimson Coward is the latest in a string of well-regarded fried chicken chain restaurants to open or announce plans to expand into Seattle.

Raising Cane's has announced three locations that will be in the Seattle area, with the first in the University District tentatively set to open in 2025. Jollibee opened its first Seattle location earlier this year after operating a few other locations in the south Sound.
