Teen killed in shooting in Seattle's New Holly neighborhood

The 14-year-old boy was taken to Harborview Medical Center on Thursday night, where he died from his injuries.

SEATTLE — A 14-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in Seattle's New Holly neighborhood on Thursday evening.

The Seattle Fire Department said crews responded to reports of a shooting in the 7400 block of Rockery Drive South just after 8 p.m. The boy was found on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound.

Paramedics transported the teenager to Harborview Medical Center where he died from his injuries, according to Brian Pritchard with the Seattle Police Department.

A vehicle sped away from the scene and the Guardian One helicopter tracked the vehicle to Everett.

Police detained three people – two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old – after the pursuit, police said. The three individuals were arrested on unrelated charges and booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center.

This marks the sixth shooting in Seattle within the past week.
