Seattle police searching for suspects in three separate shootings over two days

The shootings all happened within 48 hours over the weekend. Police are hoping people will come forward with tips to help lead to arrests.

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating three shootings that happened Saturday and Sunday, hoping someone comes forward with additional information to help lead to an arrest.

The first happened Saturday evening, as police said a gunfight broke out in downtown Seattle. Police said a 26-year-old man was brought to the hospital and a security guard was grazed by a bullet. The suspect fled the scene and has not been arrested.

Early Sunday morning, the Seattle Police Department was called to a shooting in Seattle's Mt. Baker neighborhood, where they found a juvenile female had been shot. A police spokesperson said Monday the victim had life-threatening injuries. Officers are still pursuing a suspect.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting and collision along Aurora Avenue on Sunday evening. They are still investigating the circumstances involved.

Jim Fuda, the director of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound, said anyone who witnesses a crime should first prioritize their own safety. But they should also keep their eyes open for any information that could be helpful in the future.

"How do you protect yourself and it kind of comes second nature- if something happens, where should I run to?" Fuda said. "Where would I hide, right this second? As far as witnesses, don't pursue the person that's got the gun, but pay attention to height, weight, clothing- vehicle, license number is critical if you can get that. If you can get a picture, get a picture of it."

Fuda said people can report information anonymously through Crime Stoppers' P3 Tips app or call 1-800-222-TIPS.

"Anything you might think is nothing could be a key," Fuda said. "Let's say the detectives get 80% of the case done and that bit of information helps them do the follow-up or they can actually close out that case, that tip ends up tying it together."
